Downloading the Software

QRadar Log Manager FE is a subset of Q1 Labs' enterprise-class QRadar Log Manager solution. As such, it includes the ability to process events from a wide variety of event sources which results in a large software image (1.8GB). The download should be performed from a network with sufficient bandwidth (estimated download time for a 1Mbs network is three hours).

* Important Note: The QRadar Log Manager FE software is based on an enterprise-class log management solution running within a virtual machine. As such, the system where the software is installed must be enterprise class, with sufficient processing power, memory (at least 3GB), and disk as provided in the minimum specifications. Systems that do not meet the minimum specifications will result in the software failing or having unacceptable performance.

What is QRadar Log Manager Free Edition?

QRadar Log Manager FE is a scaled-down version of Q1 Labs' QRadar Log Manager product. It provides organizations with the ability to install, test, and develop an enterprise-class log management solution, but via a software download and installation.

What is a "virtual" appliance?

A virtual appliance is a version of our appliance-based solution that runs as software in a virtual machine. The installation requires VM Player software from VMware.

What operating systems are supported?

VMware supports a wide variety of operating systems. A complete list of operating systems supported by VMware can be found on www.vmware.com/products/player. Q1 Labs has been tested using the player on Microsoft Server 2003 and Linux.

While Q1 Labs does not offer a support package for QRadar Log Manager FE, we do provide users with aLog Management User Community Forum which is moderated by Q1 Labs' staff and where QRadar Log Manager FE users can ask questions and view responses to previous questions.

If the answers to your questions cannot be found via the forum, Q1 Labs also provide limited email support where questions can be submitted. Due to the potentially high volume of questions received, we will do our best to reply to each inquiry, but cannot guarantee a direct response to everyone. (At this time we do not offer telephone support for QRadar Log Manager FE).
